Apply to be South East or Midlands Regional Coordinator!
We're currently looking for Regional Coordinators for the Midlands and South East regions.
New RCs will join our newly formed National Committee and Regional Coordinators for 2013-14, who were elected at the Spring General Assembly.
What the role involves
The Medsin network has many branches at universities across the UK. In order to better support branches, and to share the work that we’re doing, branches are grouped into convenient regions (South East, South West, Midlands, Northern and Scotland – which includes Northern Ireland!). You can see which branches each region contains here.
Regional Coordinators (RCs) are the main source of support and communication for branches, providing a bridge with the rest of the network, and encouraging branches to share best practice and collaborate. Regional Coordinators are responsible for the development of their region, which includes working with branches to arrange regional training and conferences, to have strong strategic plans, and to make sure that national opportunities and campaigns are shared with our members. Each Regional Coordinator is free to appoint a regional team to help them with their work.
Whilst they are not full National Committee positions, RCs input into the NC through the Director of Branch Affairs, and are heavily involved in the running of the network, attending the NC weekend meetings through the year, as well as general assemblies. Being a Regional Coordinator is the ideal stepping stone to gain more experience before standing for a full NC position!
