If you are interested in the organisation of exchanges – perhaps you are already a Local Exchange Officer, or you are interested in setting up SCOPE or SCORE at your university – there are plenty of opportunities to get further training and support through courses, workshops and meetings both in the UK and around the world, all while meeting new friends and getting inspired.
Professional and Research Exchange Training (PRET)
These are usually 3-4 day workshops run by experienced Exchange Trainers where participants learn more about both SCOPE and SCORE exchanges and their organisation, including problem-solving, leadership and team-building skills, techniques for approaching universities about exchanges, how to incorporate global health into exchanges and improving areas like academic quality and social programs.
Often these workshops are run alongside other workshops on different topics at the same venue, such as Training New Trainers (TNT), International Peer Education Training (iPET) or Training New Human Rights Trainers (TNHRT) so you are likely to meet many international students with different global health interests.
